Position SummaryThis is a grant funded opportunity with a specific focus on stroke, traumatic brain injury, peripheral neuropathy, and brain vascular biology working with the Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering.
The Laboratory of Dr. Savita Khanna in Department of Surgery and the Indiana Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated individual to work on stroke biology, specifically performing rodent stroke surgery, gavaging mice, working with rodent corona virus infection, blood samples and tissue collection from mice and rats after surgeries or infection. Applicants with a Master's degree will be appointed as a Research Associate and applicants with a doctorate, or other terminal degree, will be appointed as a Postdoctoral Fellow.

Basic Qualifications
• Must have a Master's degree, doctoral degree (PhD), or other terminal degree, in a science related field
•Must have experience with animal handling
•Must have experience Cell culture, RNA and Protein extraction, PCR
•Must be willing to work with animals and human subjects
•Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Must be able to work independently or with very limited supervision.
•Must be able to multitask and show interest in contributing to several projects ongoing in the lab

Additional Qualifications
•A desire to learn new techniques, write manuscripts/reports/protocols, present data at meetings and conferences, train and mentor students
•Significant grant writing history desired
