- Tenure-track faculty position in Physics and Astronomy at California State University Long Beach
Description
The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with an emphasis on data-intensive methods in physics or astronomy. We seek candidates whose theoretical or experimental research involves the analysis of large or complex datasets in Physics or Astronomy, potentially using machine learning, artificial intelligence, or computationally intensive simulations. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy, or a closely related field and have at least one year of postdoctoral experience at the time of application. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of research excellence, potential to attract external funding, and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate and master’s students in research. Equally important is the ability to teach physics effectively at both undergraduate and graduate levels and to contribute to an inclusive academic environment that supports students from all backgrounds.
