| The University of Connecticut (UConn) is pleased to invite applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position in the Department of Mathematics in the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Actuarial Science Program. The University of Connecticut’s actuarial science program is a vibrant program with nearly 500 undergraduates, 25 master’s students and 6 Ph.D. students. Since its inception, our program has contributed over 1300 baccalaureate and over 600 master’s graduates to the work force. It is one of the few Actuarial Science programs of its kind in the New England. The University of Connecticut’s Actuarial Science Program has been a Society of Actuaries’ recognized Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) every year since 2009 and was one of the original 13 schools named worldwide. Today, it is one of just 33 schools so recognized throughout the world and the only one in New England. In 2016, the program was also named as a Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) University Award Winner—one of just 4 schools so identified in the first year of the CAS Award. That recognition is available once every 3 years, and the UConn program won that award again the next time it was eligible in 2019. Founded in 1881, UConn is a Land Grant and Sea Grant institution and member of the Space Grant Consortium. It is the state’s flagship institution of higher education and includes a main campus in Storrs, CT, four regional campuses throughout the state, and 13 Schools and Colleges, including a Law School in Hartford, and Medical and Dental Schools at the UConn Health campus in Farmington.
